5 nappies worth comparing before your next big shop.

Another leak. Another outfit change. Another pack that doesn’t quite fit. Before you buy more of the same, here are five nappy options — and the details worth looking at.

You can spend longer choosing a nappy than changing one. Every pack promises softness. Every brand has a different name for its absorbent layers. And the one your friend swears by might not fit your baby in quite the same way.

When the fit isn’t right, one change can turn into a clean vest, a fresh sleepsuit and another load of washing. At night, it can mean changing the bedding when everyone just wants to get back to sleep.

Buying another pack is easy. Knowing what to change is harder. Should you try a different size? Look for different leg cuffs? Or switch brands altogether? The front of the pack doesn’t always help you decide.

So what should you look at before buying more of the same? Start with the fit around the legs and back, the materials next to your baby’s skin, and how you’ll keep the right size in the cupboard.

We looked at five UK nappy ranges with those everyday questions in mind. Below are the features, pros and cons of each, so you can work out which is worth trying next.

Your five-brand shortlist.

PAMPERS HARMONIE

Pampers Harmonie

A familiar range with a wetness indicator and back pocket.

Pampers Harmonie nappy pack

Harmonie has real strengths: no perfume or lotion, double leg cuffs, a wetness indicator and a Stop & Protect back pocket. Those are useful features, and several overlap with what other brands offer. [3]

Pampers links to retailers from its product page. Compare the pack count and price for your baby’s size, along with any delivery costs. Be sure you’re looking at Harmonie, as features differ between Pampers ranges.

Pros

  • No perfume or lotion.
  • Double cuffs and a protective back pocket.
  • A wetness indicator.

Cons

  • Pack counts, prices and delivery terms vary by retailer.
  • The product page routes you to retailers rather than a single brand-managed flexible plan.

KIT & KIN

Kit & Kin

Animal prints and sugar-cane-derived linings.

Two Kit and Kin nappies with animal prints

Kit & Kin’s animal prints and sugar-cane-derived linings stand out. It also offers a flexible subscription and lists no added fragrances or lotions. [4]

Plant-based linings don’t mean a plastic-free nappy. The cuffs and closure tabs contain polypropylene. Delivery also has limits: the brand says it cannot ship to the Channel Islands or Isle of Man. Check the individual materials and delivery options before ordering.

Pros

  • Sugar-cane-derived inner and outer linings.
  • Playful animal designs.
  • Subscription size and schedule changes.

Cons

  • Not fully plant-based: cuffs and tabs contain polypropylene.
  • No delivery to the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

PURA

Pura

A useful blowout pouch. A cutoff to keep in mind.

Pura size 4 nappy pack

Pura brings a Blowout Blocker pouch, a stretchy waistband and no fragrance or lotion. It offers both one-time purchases and subscriptions. [5]

The subscription has a deadline worth knowing. Pura says pauses and cancellations must be made at least three days before scheduled delivery. Its stated support response window is within 24 hours on weekdays. If you leave changes until the last minute, that timing can matter.

Pros

  • Blowout Blocker pouch.
  • No fragrance or lotion.
  • One-time and subscription options.

Cons

  • Pause or cancel at least three days before delivery.
  • The stated 24-hour support reply window applies on weekdays.

MAMIA ULTRA-FIT

Aldi Mamia Ultra-fit

Easy to add to an Aldi shop — if your size is available.

Aldi Mamia Ultra-fit size 4 nappy pack

Mamia Ultra-fit includes front and back protective pockets, a fast-absorbing core and no lotions or perfumes. If you already shop at Aldi, it may be convenient to pick up a pack while you’re there. [6]

Availability is the catch. The size 4 listing showed “currently not available” when checked on 10 October 2026. Local stock may differ, but you’ll need to check. A pack that isn’t available in your size can mean another shopping task.

Pros

  • Front and back protective pockets.
  • No lotions or perfumes.
  • Convenient to check during an Aldi shop.

Cons

  • The size 4 online listing was unavailable when checked.
  • Local stock and pack prices need checking before you rely on a restock.

Three checks that make choosing easier.

1. Start with the weight range, not the size number.

Size numbers aren’t interchangeable. For example, Peachies lists size 04 for 10–17 kg, while Pampers Harmonie lists size 4 for 9–14 kg. Use the relevant brand’s guide as your starting point, then check the fit on your baby. Don’t reorder the same number automatically when switching brands. [2] [3]

2. Compare the cost of the nappies you’ll actually buy.

A pack price only tells half the story. Divide the total payable by the number of nappies, including any delivery charge. Compare the same purchase type, too: a first-order subscription offer and a single supermarket pack aren’t the same commitment.

Before ordering a large box, look at the regular renewal price, delivery frequency and how you change sizes. A good deal is more useful when the nappies still fit when they arrive.

3. Give a new fit a fair try before filling the cupboard.

Start with a manageable quantity where possible. Notice how the waistband and leg openings sit, how easy changes feel, and whether that particular size works for your baby. If you’re unsure, ask the brand for sizing help before buying more.

Material preferences can narrow your search, but they shouldn’t be treated as a guarantee of comfort. Likewise, a brand’s advertised “up to” dryness duration is not a like-for-like laboratory result against another brand.

Start with Peachies.

Does a higher price mean a better nappy?

Price alone cannot tell you which nappy will fit your baby best. Compare the features you value, the size and the cost per nappy. Start with a smaller quantity when you’re trying a new brand, if that option is available.

Are these nappies all fragrance-free?

The specific products covered here all list no added fragrance or perfume and no lotion in the sources checked. That doesn’t make every product from each brand identical. Always check the exact range and pack.

Why aren’t there scores out of ten?

A numerical score would imply a shared testing method that we haven’t used. Instead, we’ve set out the published features, practical considerations and source links so you can decide which options are worth trying.
